100% Nude Hiking in Eastern Pennsylvania: Sunny Rest Nudist Resort.
Hiking out in nature without clothes provides a level of freedom that may exceed that of hanging out at a nudist resort pool or nude beach. Sunny Rest Resort in Palmerton, PA, provided the setting for our first experience with real nude hiking - legally and within the grounds of a gated nudist resort who adheres to the standards of the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR). Sunny Rest usually gets props for its excellent amenities (pool, indoor hot tub, game room, restaurant, etc.) and grounds. The nude hiking trail is a hidden gem. Anyone can hike Sunny Rest's wooded hiking trails in the nude and feel safe. The trails are within the 190-acre resort property boundaries. Just wear sneakers and socks. The trails were well-maintained and level with the exception of one small hill on what's called the "hard trail" - really just a small section that diverts from the main trail. The main trail goes about 1 mile and then there are smaller side trails that are dead ends. Tack on about half a mile for the walk on pavement from the pool area to the start of the dirt trail. About Naturism

Ask 50 people and you get 50 different answers. Whilst there is no official definition, it could be said: "Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature, expressed by communal nudity with the aim of furthering the respect of oneself, of others and that of the environment." Others describe naturism as "a sensible approach to wearing clothes".

Naturists come in all shapes and sizes and of all ages – from the newly-born to those over 80. Many of us are interested in sports or outdoor living but others prefer just to relax. We are labourers, managers, clerks, civil servants, artists, farmers, doctors, etc.: we represent all walks of life. By undressing, you strip yourself of any false attitudes and of any outward signs of your social position in daily life. Without clothes, the employee is on the same level as the boss, and for many this turns out to be one of the most beneficial elements of Naturism.

Naturists are also more relaxed about the human body. We are more aware than others that human beings are born with soft skin which wrinkles later in life, that some are fat, others thin, some are tall, others short; having been struck by illness or accident, some remain scarred for life – we are simply men and women. Naturists have no secrets to hide
Getting butt naked in front of others to swim, picnic or play petanque may not be everyone's idea of fun.
But ask a naturist about its appeal and words such as soothing, relaxing and liberating are offered up as reasons to go a la naturale. Albert Wayers and June Campbell-Tong of the Wellington Naturists Club are eager to spread the word during the club's open weekend, which starts today. People can stroll in the 15-acre grounds just north of Upper Hutt and check out the facilities, which include a spa, sauna and swimming pool. There are caravans and cabins nestled amongst native bush, along with a barbecue area and sports facilities. Mr Wayers, the club president, said there will be a "clothes on period" between 10am and 2pm to make people feel more at ease. He is eager to dispel notions that nudists are an airy-fairy bunch or that there is any link to sex. Members did not always walk around in the buff – it was more of a health and wellbeing retreat, he said. "What we get out of it is we have a lovely retreat located in the bush. If you do drop your clothes it makes a difference for it has a soothing effect and it's calming." Read More
